Education Ministry to Allow Students to Take Break from Studies to Volunteer for SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has stated that students and education staff who wish to volunteer for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and ASEAN Para Games can take a break from their studies and teachings to support these major sporting events.

The Ministry of Education has instructed schools to arrange online classes, exams, and classroom instructions based on need and curriculum.

The Ministry has also encouraged educators, staff and students to support the games in person or through the media to further encourage Cambodian athletes.

The Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) has announced that around 7,000 volunteers are needed to ensure the smooth running of the SEA Games.

The 2023 SEA Games will start on 5 May 2023. As of Friday, 24 March, only 42 days are left to the start of the SEA Games and only 72 days are left to start of the ASEAN Para Games.
